PEI Women’s Liberal Commission

The PEI Women’s Liberal Commission works collectively with the National Women’s Liberal Commission and are the voice of women in the Liberal Party of PEI and Canada. Their mutual mandate is to ensure equal participation of women and men at all levels of the Party, to represent and promote the interests of women within the Party and to encourage the active participation of women at all levels of Party activities.

In April of 1952, a Constitution and By-Laws were developed for the formation of a Prince Edward Island Women’s Liberal Association which was to be comprised of District Women’s Liberal Clubs. This was when the Charlottetown Women’s Liberal Club was formed. Currently, the Charlottetown Women’s Liberal Club has over 30 active members. For more information about the PEI or Canadian Women’s Liberal networks contact the Party office or check out the National Women’s Liberal Commissions website at http://www.nwlc-clfn.ca/mandate_e.aspx.
